A Day at the Zoo

Today Jack's preschool class had their very first field trip. Since I was off, both Lisa and I took Jack to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. We'd never been, but heard great things about it.

Check out the slideshow (click to enlarge).

It's a fantastic zoo set on the side of the mountain (not too hilly all things considered). In fact the elevation made for some interesting exhibits - like the giraffes that you could approach head-to-head and feed.

Afterward, we drove up to the Will Rogers Shrine, an historic site set on one of the mountains highest peaks (~8000 ft). It was an interesting ride up the windy roads with sheer cliff drop-offs and no guard rails.

We had a great time.
